Rev. Samson C. Tso began serving at Homecrest in June, 2012. He was
ordained by the New York City Presbytery. Prior to his current call to Homecrest, he served as the English Ministry pastor for the Taiwanese-American Fellowship Presbyterian Church, in New Brunswick, NJ from 2006-2011. Rev. Tso received his Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2006. Rev. Tso is also a certified facilitator/counselor with the Prepare/Enrich program preparing couples with marriage and relational counseling.
Rev. Tso was ordained as a ruling elder and deacon at his home church - First Chinese Presbyterian Church since he was 18. He served as the Moderator of the National Asian Presbyterian Council, the Asian Caucus representative member of the PC(USA)'s Advocacy Committee on Racial Ethnic Concerns. On the local level, he is currently serving as a member of the Committee on Preparation for Ministry at NYC Presbytery.
Before he received his call to enter full-time ministry, Rev. Tso worked as a Civil Engineer for private consultant in NYC. He received his Bachelor of Engineering from the Cooper Union and his Master of Science in Transportation Engineering and Urban Planning
from Polytechnic University. Instead of building physical bridges and highways, he's now building "bridges" among the people of God.
He believes that God has a calling in each of our lives. As a church, we have a greater calling in fulfilling God's mission here on earth. Mission is where our gifts and passions meet the needs of the world. Rev. Tso was born in Hong Kong and came to the US while he was 11. In his spare time, he enjoys watching/listening to the Yankees, and meeting old and making new friends while "fishing" (aka sushi).
